Enjoy the benefits of fully directional, 360 degree light output, just like your traditional neon tube, ccfl tube, or fluorescent tube. But with brand new, instant-on LED technology.
There's 81 LEDs in this LED tube. 7.5 inches long, yet about the same thickness a pencil.
We give you wires coming out of both ends, so you can easily daisy-chain multiple tubes together. Or if you just want to use one tube, thats fine too. You can leave the power wires on the other end hanging, or snip them off.
Just hook up the power wires to any 12 volt source (car battery, 12v battery, AC Adapter, etc), and you're good to go. Each tube draws about 500 mA (power consumption).
Its not designed to be 100% submersible and waterproof, but rather "splash-proof".
It does get hot, so its best if you keep it away from anything that could melt. And even better if you only use it for intermittent operation. Like as a strobe, with an LED dimmer, or for short periods of time where you need a really bright, intense glow. You could try to keep it on 24/7 but the lifespan may be decreased.
Available in 6 flashy colors: Cool White, Warm White, Red, Blue, Green, and Amber.
If you need it even thinner, you can remove the circuit board of LEDs from the plastic tube.
And if 7.5 inches is too long, you can cut it down between every third LED. A set of 3 LEDs takes up about 3/4 inch (2 cm). When you cut it, you'll be able to re-use both ends, but you won't be able to solder new wires to any internal segments.

Customer questions & answers
Quel diametre fait le tube acrylique?
Le tube est de 8.3mm (0.325 inch)
Are these durable? With additional layering and use of a combat grade diffusion blade, these could be a breakthrough for Lightsaber enthusiasts. Would it be possible to make a custom tube 32 in long with the ability to light in a sequence? - by Landon (Michigan)
Yes, these are durable but do get hot. Not sure of making a longer tube due to the heat it would produce. Not sure what kind of lighting sequence you were thinking of.
Will the heat affect the tube? Say if on for a few hours straight? - by ROLAND (Pearl City, HI)
The acrylic tube itself shouldn't be affected much, but the lifespan of the LEDs will be sharply decreased if left on for a prolonged time.
