Music & Flash Interface - Control your LEDs or cathodes by sound

i tried to cover it with tape as well, multiple things of tape, even tried cotton ball and a napkin and then with tape to secure to it, nothing worked. still using it just as a switch till i can find something or someway for it to work.

I recently bought this to put in my wife's car, however i am dissapointed with the way it works, or doesnt work... it is way too sensitive to music, even on the lowest setting, all it does it flicker, the lights are always on, even with music very low and just pulse a little higher, rather than being all the way off and pulsing big when base hits... bummer =/ now just using it as a switch to turn lights on or off.

Have you tried putting some tape over the microphone?

I got one and hooked it up to the surface mount LED's. The first one burned out right after my first test hook up, but they sent me a new was super fast. If you get one, just hook up one or two lights and then hook up power and leave it for like 10 minutes. I took out the mic and just extended the wires to run it to my subs in the trunk. Works great for $13. But saying, that, it's only $13, so don't expect perfection.

I bought this as I have seen it used in computers on You Tube instead of the Logysis music flasher. The Logysis flasher didn't pick up the music and flash the leds or cathodes very well. This controller is to sensitive. Any music I play the cathodes just stay on. I can turn it all the way to the left and it helps some but it picks up every sound in the room an flashes or stays on. I gave it 4 stars because I picked it out and I can't blame any mistakes on anyone but myself about understanding how sensitive the controller is. So my delima is one not sensitive enough and one to sensitive. I guess if it was made for cars then it is a fine controller. Beware in trying to put it in a computer unless you know some thing I don't.

Hello . If you have problems with the flash interface not flashing accordingly to the music, do what I did buy a cheap amp from Amazon and hook up your neon or led to the speaker terminal crank up your music and slowly crank up the level on the amp until they flash normal. Just installed in my car last night. Works really good, but the control knob on mine doesnt work for anything, and i dont feel like takin it out, so I'm leavin it. also, careful that you dont cross any wires, cause i accidentially did and that channel went out. Otherwise, the sound control for lights is pretty cool.

OK, so I ordered one of these and wired 6 cathodes to it, which i soon realized pulled more than 2 Amps and fried it. So then I got another one and wired it CORRECTLY to only 4 cathodes and it worked fine for a few weeks, and now all of a sudden, it doesn't work and is showing the same symptoms as when it was fried with 6 cathodes. So idk what the problem is, but I'd steer clear of using cathodes with this.

Put one inside my xbox 360 with leds, custom wired it to a seperate switch on top by the hard drive, so it switches between "on" and "music interface." Now my 360 flashes to the beat of the music I play or the gunshots of my favorite shooting games.

Well, mine works great connected to a relay with led's, cathodes and everything. If You find that its too sensitive... you can try placing it in a different location... or try what I did.

I folded up a small napkin and placed it over the small holes (where the mic is located)... and wrapped it with electrical tape making sure to keep it pretty tight as it went around. Kinda muffling the sound somewhat. It made mine work perfect. I just hope it never over heats.

I bought this along with 2 blue cathodes and set them up in my room. I set the mic on my sub and tuned it so every time the bass hits hard they turn on.. it works great for me.
