Ultra Thin LED Dome Light | Thin LED Dome Lights

These LED boards are brilliant. I just installed a 5x1.5" 14x LED board as a dome light in 'Cool blue' and the output is unreal. I have 20% tint all the way around my car (except windshield) and when these babies are lit, you can see inside my car, clear as day! This is at night, of course.

I also soldered a 470-ohm 1/2 watt 5% tolerable resistor (found at Radioshack or alike) so the LEDs go completely out when the dome is not lit. :thumbup:

I upgraded my dome light about a year ago with the Thin Flexible 5mm LED Dome Light. That light didnt last me too long and wasn't as bright as I expected. After reading the reviews of this light several times and finally giving in to the price, I bought the 2" x " version to upgrade on my '05 xb. After installing, I had to say "WOW!" Im very impressed and satisfied with the output and build of this light. This light is super bright and EASILY LIGHTS UP THE WHOLE CAR! Its amazing! My wife loves it alot! Now it'll be much easier for her to put on make up in the car when we go out in the evening :)

Anyone thinking of getting this light, stop thinking and GET IT!!! I highly recommend it!

Didn't strain my neck during installation because I positioned and stuck the panel to the dome light housing, while the housing was removed from my car, and was on my workbench, and I was looking down at it, instead of looking up at the housing, while it was in the car. A 2010 Toyota Matrix dome light. The housing comes out of the ceiling very easily, by squeezing 2 clips, diagonally opposite each other at the corners of the housing. If you center the 1.5 by 5 inch panel in the space that is available for it, one clip will be completely obscured. It would no longer be easy to remove the housing. You would have to first unstick the panel, before you could squeeze one of the clips. So I move the panel right up against the sliding switch. It looks fine once the lens is installed - more centered than if I had centered it. Now there is room to get a screw driver in to squeeze the clip that otherwize would have been completely obscured. I removed the double-sticky tape from the panel, where the panel partially obscures the clip, so that it doesn't interfere with squeezing the clip. I had to do several trial fittings to get everything just right. While doing this, one of the lead-in wires broke, right at the circuit board. I resoldered it. See the forum. I think the wires could have been attached more securely - by using some kind of potting material over the solder joints, and the ends of the wires near the solder joints, in order to prevent the wires from breaking, with mild to moderate tension on them, or with (not so) frequent bending of them. I'm taking a star off for the wires not being secured strongly enough.

The lamp is much brighter than the 5 to 8 watt incandescent, 27 mm festoon lamp, that it replaced. And uses only 3.5 watts acc to Oznium's Customer Questions page. However it isn't as bright as I would have hoped. I was hoping it would light up my car like the fluorescent lamp in my kitchen, lights up my kitchen. But it doesn't. Part of the problem is that the interior of my car is mostly charcoal black (dark gray, nearly black) - seats, carpets, door panels. If I add a second dome light, the rear one, and 2 LED map lights, maybe that will help. But that would come to about $110 total (not including shipping) for 4 panels. 4 incandescents would have cost about $6 or 7! I suppose I could save some money if I buy LEDs, circuit boards, and resisters, and wire my own LED panels.

We received the first dome light and 6 Led's were out, contacted Oznium and that same day they sent off a new one. All I have to say is "Wow", cannot believe the level of customer service! Thanks Oznium! My wife loves the new light, much more security when walking up to her car. I will be ordering 10 superflux dome lights for my van and really looking forward to them!

This is my 3rd time buying domelights from oznium, that should tell you something. Their leds are 3 times brighter than ones i tried from 2 other sites. Even tho the leds appear to be the same, once lit up, they are much brighter than the competitions. And you wont find better customer service anywhere. Thanks again oznium.

I am really partucular about my interior lighting, and I dont like that blue tinted white LED light I always see.. I like a natural warm light with a bit of yellow - like a regular incadescent buld- because it provides a better light so your interior colors look warm & solid & not washed out & cold. Plus, other LLED's Ive seen really suck when it comes to throwing any useable light out at all... But I like the flexability of LED's over bulbs & thought I's try one.

I got the 2x2 Ultra thin dome light with the WARM WHITE color - and these thinks really kick A$$! I was really suprised at how much light they throw out, and the temerature of the light was awesome... just like a buld, colors look great and my black interior on the '67 Mustang looks solid & rich, not washed out at all - and there is tons of light - these things are absolutely great!
when I first got it in the mail, I connected it to a spare battery in my shop (1,000 sq foot shop) and turned off all the lights... I could see clear across the entire shop - 45feet... couldnt see much except the wall, but thats a lot of light I would say even 12-15 feet away you can read the text on a bottle of 409 easily - I could see everything in the shop with this little led light - amazing
Only con I have the wires are very thin and seem like they would pull out under any kind of tension - so be carefull. I cut the dummy bulb off & wired direct to my 18 guage wire (with that little plug) & works great. They are so thin & small you can hide them about anywhere - Im putting another in the trunk and one for a hood light.
If your skeptical like me about LED's & how bright they are or the color temp - fear not, these are the way to go over bulbs any day!

I was at first a bit skeptical, and some readers may wonder, like I did, if these Oznium lights really do what the photos show. Well they do!!!
Ordered on a Friday, showed up by Tuesday. Everything in great condition and wrapped carefully. Got the 1.5x1.5 blue LED for the 98 Silverado dome light, since regular bulbs kept getting too hot around the center filament and then the bulb glass would get brown and discolored and discolor the plastic housing. Tried colored bulbs from Autozone, turned brown again with a tinge of blue left on the ends.
The Oznium LED light took about 5 minutes to install. Put it in wrong the first time and just had to switch the ends. Wasn't quite sure how the tape on the back of the LED worked. Eventually I just bunched the wire up in the plastic housing, and stuck the back of the LED to that bunch of wires and it held it in the center pretty well. This worked so well, it's almost tempting to order a few more different colors to find colors that I like. I went blue because the overall tone of the upholstery and dash is blue in my Silverado.
Long story short, these are rather inexpensive, and totally worth it, definitely not a scam or anything of the sort as far as I have seen. Great customer service, Oznium representatives kept me updated on my shipping with e-mails and then if I had any concerns with the product. Customer service I think shows integrity because they are willing to stand behind their product.
If you have read this far, stop and go order Oznium LED lights now!

I saw this in a friends car first in blue and it was amazing how bright it was. I bought an orange one and it fits perfectly into my 2010 xB and lights up the entire car. I can't wait to get some action shots, it looks amazing.

I just installed a 1.5" x 1.0" warm white Ultrathin LED Dome Light in the stock dome light of my 1988.5 Suzuki Samurai.

It took me about 60 seconds to do and now I can easily read by it now. It is very bright and fit perfectly.

I wish there was a 2.0" x 1.0" version with more LEDs, which would have filled the space, but this was a massive improvement. "Day and Night" is an apt description.

Got these bad boys in three days. They are super bright and really light up my car. First shipment came with detached wires but oznium with their great customer service sent me new ones.
