With a color temperature of 4000-5000K, the LEDs emit a striking bluish white light without any visible sign of yellow – just a crisp, cool blend of white and blue. To keep things simple, the lights are not currently available in any other color.
The vertical LEDs fit perfectly on the Scion xB’s distinctive front bumper and are able to cast a noticeably more imposing light than the standard set of fogs, for which they are not a direct replacement! In fact, the LEDs can be used in a number of different ways, including being set up as running lights, signal lights or complementary fog lights.
Installation is relatively straightforward, with only a little muscle required to snap the lights firmly into place. Available in standard clear lenses, customers can use a spray (not supplied) to tint the lights for additional effect.
Please note: the lights fit Scion xB models 2008, 2009 and 2010 but are not compatible with 2011 & 2012.
When will the 2011-2012 model be available?
Sorry, no plans. Here's why:
Just like with the 2008-2010 model we've made, the 2011-2012 model would be a 100% custom molded part. This means we'd have to pay about $15,000 to $20,000 for development costs including plastic injection molds and tooling.
If we sell for $130 per set, and if everything goes to plan, it would take at least three years to break even (based on sales rate of the 2008-2010 model), so we don't think it makes sense to invest in this.
As an alternative, we suggest you consider making your own by drilling a handful of holes in your existing plastic insert, and using our Prewired Superflux 4 Chip LEDs.
Remote Control Dimmer & Strobe Switch
Our spiffy remote controlled strobe switch works exceptionally well with these lights, taking the awesome factor up a gear or two. The remote controller features strobe and 'heart-beat' settings that are guaranteed to have the jaws of other motorists dropping to the floor with envy. The device also comes with an on/off mode, which comes in handy!
